چکیده

Introduction. The most widely accepted notion of the function blood clotting factor XII (FXII, Hageman factor) is its involvement in internal pathway. However, biological role FXII diverse. Aim – to review diverse functions FXII. Main findings. a serine protease. structure has high degree homology with plasminogen, tissue plasminogen activator and urokinase activator. Activated (FXIIa) five substrates: high-molecular kininogen, precallikrein, FXI, complement proteins (C1s, C1r). provides hemostatic balance by participating processes fibrinolysis. regulates inflammatory allergic reactions interacting kallikreinkinin system system. activity various cells vivo: endotheliocytes, platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, fi broblasts, dendritic cells, which determines physiological pathological processes.

The elusive physiologic role of Factor XII.

Physiologic hemostasis upon injury involves many plasma proteins in a well-regulated cascade of proteolytic reactions to form a clot. Deficiency of blood coagulation Factors VIII, IX, or XI is associated with hemophilia. Factor XII (FXII) autoactivates by contact with a variety of artificial or biologic negatively charged surfaces (contact activation), resulting in blood coagulation and activat...

Phosphatonins: physiological role and pathological changes.

Maintenance of proper serum phosphate concentrations is required for healthy life, and critical for normal skeletal development and integrity. Several hormones and regulatory factors such as vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), and the phosphatonins (FGF-23, sFRP-4, MEPE) among others, may play a role only in the long-term regulation of phosphorus homeostasis.FGF23 is part of a previously unre...

The role of wnt signaling in physiological and pathological angiogenesis.

Early stages of vascular development include endothelial cell differentiation in a network of arteries, veins, and lymphatics. Subsequently, to respond to the specific needs of the organs, endothelial cells acquire specialized properties such as permeability control, expression of specific transcellular transport systems, membrane adhesive molecules, and others. Endothelial cell differentiation...

Role of tau protein in both physiological and pathological conditions.

The morphology of a neuron is determined by its cytoskeletal scaffolding. Thus proteins that associate with the principal cytoskeletal components such as the microtubules have a strong influence on both the morphology and physiology of neurons. Tau is a microtubule-associated protein that stabilizes neuronal microtubules under normal physiological conditions. However, in certain pathological si...

The role of neuropilin 2 in physiological and pathological angiogenesis

Neuropilin 2 (NRP2) is a transmembrane receptor protein that was first discovered on neurons and then endothelial cells. On endothelial cells, it serves as co-receptor with the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) to bind VEGF and induce a pro-(lymph)angiogenic intracellular signal. In addition to VEGF, NRP2 is also a receptor for semaphorin 3F (SEMA3F), which upon binding to NRP...
